Job Description

The role of Assessment Proctor is a contracted, non-full time position with opportunities for self-scheduling work during morning/daytime hours of the regular academic year (mid-August through end of May). Exam schedule will vary month-to-month. The Assessment Proctor role is an in-person position with no option for remote work.

The Assessment Proctor will assist the Educational Course Coordinators in the set up and administration of all assigned, in-class, ICOM course assessments. The personnel hired for this role will act as independent contractors and will serve in this role as assigned in their contract. The ideal candidates will be professional, reliable, have a strong sense of integrity, and be a keen observer. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Assist Lead Proctor in setting up exam room; including the distribution of scratch paper, pencils, and ear plugs, following the approved seating chart
  • Ensure the assessment location and immediate hallway are free of study material or other material that may compromise the integrity of the assessment
  • Monitor student entry - ensure students are following the exam policy and that no prohibited items are in student’s possession
  • Closely monitor all students during assessment session, including walking up and down stairs in lecture hall to maintain visual oversight of entire room
  • Monitor the hallway outside of the lecture hall and regulate restroom usage to ensure the integrity of the assessment
  • Collect all exam supplies and check students out as they leave the session - ensure all assessments have been fully submitted

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A team player who values collaboration, mutual support and team cohesion.
  • While no degree is required, some college experience is preferred.
  • US citizenship or authorization to work in the US - at this time ICOM cannot sponsor international visa applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • experience using Apple products helpful
