Job Description

Principal with main residence in Hobe Sound, Florida and four other domestic residences is seeking an active, adventurous, outdoorsy, and professional full-time companion / personal assistant. Schedule for position is on five out of seven days per week (including weekdays and weekends). Approximate annual travel schedule: Florida (December – April), Illinois (May, November, holidays), Michigan (September and October), Wisconsin (June – August), Utah (possibly once per year). Approximately 3-4 other domestic and/or international trips per year are required. Position requires passion for travel and extreme flexibility with scheduling. Separate accommodations and vehicles will be provided for employee when traveling / working at other residences in Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Utah. Applicants need to be honest, trustworthy, understand the importance of maintaining discretion, collaborative and experienced working with family office and domestic staff. This is a newly created position. Family is open to local candidates in South Florida and domestic relocations. Start date is flexible for the right candidate. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Drive and accompany principal to doctor’s appointments, routine appointments, etc.

• Drive and accompany principal on outings (e.g., meals, errands, boat rides, etc.)

• Ensure principal has daily meals planned (e.g., heating up food, food delivery, restaurant reservations, etc.)

• Ensure pantry and refrigerator are properly stocked in accordance with the principal’s travel and entertaining schedules

• Oversee and ensure that medications are administered as directed by medical professionals

• Oversee and ensure that principal performs daily occupational therapy / physical therapy exercises and general fitness as directed by medical professionals

• Inventory checklists for household items, food, principal’s essentials, etc. and order through Amazon, Instacart, etc.

• Run errands (e.g., grocery shopping, shopping for home supplies, returns, purchasing gifts for family members, and other requested items)

• Handle things around the home (e.g., receiving deliveries, overseeing service providers, going through mail and sorting bills and junk, etc.)

• Organizational and maintenance tasks around residences (e.g., take out garbage, change light bulbs, bring in firewood, etc.)

• Maintain and coordinate communication between principal, executive assistant, family members, and family office (e.g., travel plans, holidays, etc.)

• Report change in health and behaviors to family members

• Maintain vehicles (e.g., fill gas tank, wash / detail, take for service appointments and keep accurate records of services completed, etc.)

• Personal assistant tasks (e.g., schedule appointments, assistance with scheduling service providers and vendors at residences, communicate with executive assistant to ensure scheduling is known for business and travel, manage principal’s schedule and calendar, etc.) – Executive Assistant is responsible for scheduling all business related meetings, private aviation, and travel

• Schedule meetings with principal, family members, and family office as needed to discuss schedules, travel plans, upcoming events, special projects, etc. 

• Assistance with dog (e.g., walking and letting out, feeding, routine groomer and veterinary appointments, etc.) – Principal may be getting dog in near future

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Ability to travel internationally and domestically whenever necessary 

• Highly organized, detail oriented, proactive, excellent time management, efficient, and service focused

• Strong technology skills (e.g., iOs devices, scheduling and calendaring, smart home programs, etc.)

• Attentive to principal’s preferences and style (intuitive to their needs)

• Observant to the needs of principal and homes to anticipate their needs 

• Ability to maintain discretion (confidentiality agreement is required)

• Ability to be discreet with respect for employer’s privacy

• Professional presentation of self and great personality 

• Ability to easily take direction 

• Strong ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with principal, family members, friends, family office, and domestic employees

• Positive attitude and ability to handle principal with ease and calm demeanor

• High energy level, active, and adventurous

• Non-Smoker 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree

• 5-10+ years of consistent and recent full-time domestic experience working with high net worth and/or ultra high net worth individual(s) 

• Seeking longevity / long term commitment (e.g., at least 2-5+ years)

• Live a close proximity to main residence in Hobe Sound, Florida or willingness to relocate within a reasonable commute

• Experienced driving boat or willingness to learn

• Safe vehicle for transportation (required for driving to and from work in Florida)

• Driver’s license and clean driving record 

• United States passport 

• 3-4+ references from domestic positions

• Willingness to sign Confidentiality Agreement / NDA

• Ability to complete extensive background checks, motor vehicle checks, drug tests, and psychological evaluation 

COMPENSATION:

• $200K+ gross annual salary (based on experience and qualifications)

• Health insurance coverage (including dental and vision) 

• Four weeks (20 days) vacation paid

• Five sick days paid 

• Discretionary annual bonus and raise (performance evaluation required)
