(OHA), has a fantastic opportunity for an EXPERIENCED PROGRAM DIRECTOR to join an excellent team working to help people recover from their illness and return to their lives in the community.

What you will do!

Under the direction of the Deputy Superintendent, the Program Director is responsible to provide leadership planning, direction of services, coordination and integration of the functions and activities of living unit, treatment mall and interdisciplinary treatment team functions, to ensure quality patient care, optimal operation, and ongoing licensure and/or certification of the Program.

The Program Director

  • Provides effective leadership which inspires, motivates and guides employees toward goal accomplishment and provides effective oversight to achieve the mission, vision and values of Oregon State Hospital and Oregon Health Authority.
  • Plans and organizes the functions of the Program through collaboration with clinical discipline directors, administrators, departments and staff to ensure the quality of patient care.
  • Develops and maintains a system of communication of patient treatment needs and priorities between IDTs, Units and Treatment Mall services. Monitors to assure systems are operational and effective.
  • Establish program goals, objectives and priorities in conjunction with the Clinical Administrative Team.
  • Coordinates, plans and develops services with other hospital programs, state agencies and community-based care providers to adequately respond to the resident population’s current and projected needs.
  • Identifies and evaluates the service needs of patients by securing analyzing and synthesizing all related information.
  • Develops and provides for the implementation of program evaluation mechanisms and conceptualizes means to improve program services through performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures reliable data collection system exists within the program to support the evaluation and planning functions.
  • Identifies obstacles to optimum service delivery and takes corrective action.
  • Identifies and analyses problems, arrives at conclusions and finds alternative solutions to complex problems.
  • Ensures the application and implementation of established hospital policies, procedures, Oregon Administrative Rules and Oregon Revised Statutes.
  • Recommends hospital wide policy revisions and drafts new policies as needed.
  • Develops program policies and procedures that ensure efficient and effective services and are consistent with OSH and OHA mission and policies.
  • Maintains knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, OHA Licensing and other applicable accrediting body standards. Ensures the program maintains continuous survey preparedness and meets the intent of the standards.
  • Provides customer service that meets the needs of patients, families and staff.
  • Ensures that there is a formal forum to communicate and exchange information with program staff.
  • Directs at least weekly Program Executive Team meetings with program managers and key clinical staff to review reports, identify problems, acknowledge accomplishments and coordinate improvement initiatives.
  • Provides managerial leadership, advocates for improved and expanded client services and represents program on the Clinical Administrative Team and other committees as assigned.
  • This is a full-time, permanent position that is management service and is not represented by a union.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Minimum Qualifications for the Program Director/Administrator 1 position are:

Five years of management experience; OR two years of management experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
