POSITION SUMMARY
Provides project-level leadership for all phases of assigned construction projects. This includes planning, directing, and managing the necessary staffing, material, subcontractors, and equipment to comply with project owners' standards and specifications, project plans and project proposals. Responsible for project safety and quality control. Consistently strives to convey a positive image of E-Z Bel Construction, and themselves individually, by aligning their decision-making and behaviors to the company's Core Values.
YOUR ROLE
• Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including planning and scheduling materials, equipment, and staffing to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
• Ensure job site safety, monitor compliance, and address safety issues as needed.
• Collaborate with the General Superintendent to resolve equipment and staffing conflicts.
• Prepare and submit look-ahead schedules to the Project Manager.
• Communicate project goals and daily tasks to Foremen.
• Review daily timecards and diaries for accuracy, identifying issues and opportunities.
• Handle all job-related reporting, including daily diaries and personnel matters.
• Maintain professional relationships with inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• AddrEss project site issues with effective solutions based on expertise.
• Oversee overall productivity of the project and onsite crews, including subcontractors.
• Read and understand project plans, anticipating conflicts and communicating with Project Managers.
• Conduct inspections to ensure work quality and adherence to specifications.
• Review production quantities with Project Managers and Inspectors monthly.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials, communicate orders, and review shipping documents.
• Demonstrate knowledge of pay items and job costs.
• Participate in project meetings and promote team member engagement.
• ComMunicate project-specific safety needs with the Safety Manager and lead safety meetings.
• Ensure proper traffic control on the project site.
• Perform routine site inspections and adhere to PPE requirements.
• Report maintenance needs to the Mechanics team and coordinate equipment moves with the Equipment Manager.
• Lead and manage project personnel effectively.
• Address staffing and training needs with the General Superintendent.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Five years of experience in the construction industry.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required; CDL preferred.
• Preferred certifications: First Aid, CPR, HAZWOPER, OSHA30.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand instructions and correspondence.
• Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Sound judgment in complex problem-solving.
• Ability to influence others and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to plan work schedules, materials, equipment, and staffing needs.
• Effective relationship-building skills.
• In-depth knowledge in specialized areas of construction (e.g., Concrete, Underground Utilities, Traffic Signals).
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Project Superintendent, while performing the essential functions of this job is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, lift above their head, and talk or hear. The Project Superintendent is occasionally required to kneel, crouch or stoop, climb ladders, bend at the waist, squat and crawl in tight or confined spaces to perform the essential functions of the job. The Project Superintendent will occasionally lift, move or push up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. Ascending or descending stairs is required, and movement of uneven terrain is frequently required to carry out essential duties. Driving a vehicle is required.
PRE-SCREEN
Upon offer, employees will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to travel within the State of Texas as needed, overnight or out of town stay may be required up to 2 weeks as needed.
