Responsibilities : We respond to incidents, assist Guests and Cast Members during safety & emergency situations, and are trained on Infant, Child, and Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and bleeding control procedures to respond to emergencies. We control vehicle and pedestrian access across our property. We screen guests and their belongings for prohibited items, which may include the use of a hand-held metal detection wand. We use radio telecommunication, computer technology, and electro-magnetic technology including hand-held metal detection wands, and operate motor vehicles across the Walt Disney World Resort. We maintain relationships with Cast Members at all levels and all lines of business to provide excellent service to our Guests and Cast. We assess and analyze situations, collect information, and prioritize while remaining calm and maintaining confidentiality. We supervise and maintain crowd control during peak operational hours, which requires prolonged standing and walking in outdoor settings in different weather conditions. Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required, as well as handling cleaning chemicals and supplies. Basic Qualifications : A valid Florida Driver's License Ability to maintain a Florida Security Guard License - Class D Must be at least 18 years of age Have at least one or more of the following: 1 year or more sworn Law Enforcement experience 2 years or more active-duty Military or 3 years or more reserve duty Military 2 years or more of security/first response (EMT/Fire)/Investigative related experience within the last 10 years in one of the following areas: Security Guard/Officer experience responsible for foot/bicycle/motor patrol, monitoring cameras, and/or aviation screening Loss Prevention or Plain Clothes Operatives experience High-pressure situational experience such as an Emergency Medical Technician, Firefighter, Flight Attendant, or a 911 Operator Associate degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Private Investigations, Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, or any other Security related curriculum Experience with standard Microsoft Office software programs We use writing skills to complete narrative reports about incidents we are involved in. Written and verbal English communication skills, including using telephone and radio Must be capable of standing in one location for prolonged periods, walking long distances for prolonged periods, working in a non-climate-controlled environment, outdoors, and in various weather conditions, with potential full sun exposure, wind, and rain Pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, kneeling, and lifting up to 35 lbs. Two and a half weeks of Full Availability are required for training for Part Time Security Candidates Part-time Cast Members will need to be available at least one of the following combinations for scheduling: Wednesday/Thursday plus one additional day Friday/Saturday plus one additional day Saturday/Sunday plus one additional day Sunday/Monday plus one additional day Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the latest security screening technology Bilingual Knowledge of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks & Resorts Additional Information : SCHEDULE AVAILABILTY Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
